What did the BSP order change for GCash?
In August 2025 the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas issued Memorandum M-2025-029, telling banks and e-wallets to remove links and shortcuts to online gambling platforms from inside their apps. GCash complied within days, so the gaming tiles that used to sit inside the app are gone. (Bet88 itself runs as a web app from bet88.ph, not inside GCash.)
What that means as of October 2026: you can't browse to a casino from GCash anymore. Whether a particular licensed site still accepts GCash at its own cashier is up to that site and its payment partners, and it changes. We don't claim any specific site, Bet88 included, accepts GCash; check the cashier in your account each time.
Before you use GCash with any gaming site
- Check the site first. Put the exact address through the Legit Check.
- Fully verify your GCash. Unverified or basic accounts have lower limits and may not be able to receive payouts.
- Use an account in your own name. The name on your GCash has to match the name on your gaming account, or withdrawals get rejected.
- Decide your budget. Set your number in the Budget Planner before you top up, not after.
What a safe GCash payment looks like
- Start from the site's cashier. Log in yourself (for Bet88: safe login steps), go to the deposit page, and pick GCash only if it's listed there.
- Check who you're paying. You should land on a GCash checkout or a QR code for a merchant, a business name, not a person.
- Approve in the GCash app. Enter your MPIN only inside the official GCash app, never on a web page someone sent you.
- Confirm both sides. Check that your GCash history and your gaming balance both show the transaction, and screenshot it.
Cashing out to GCash
If the site lists GCash for withdrawals, payouts should go only to your own verified GCash number, the same one you used to deposit where possible. Common reasons a GCash payout fails: the name doesn't match, a digit in the number is wrong, wagering isn't finished, or your GCash level can't receive the amount. Our withdrawal guide walks through each fix.
Limits and verification levels
GCash sets wallet and transaction limits based on your verification level, and it updates them from time to time. Check the current limits inside the GCash app rather than relying on numbers from forums. Gaming sites set their own minimums and maximums too, shown on their cashier page. If a payout is larger than what your wallet can receive in a period, it may be held or split.
GCash scams aimed at players
- "Load agent" offers: discounted credits or bonus chips if you send to a personal GCash.
- Release-fee messages: pay a "tax" by GCash to unlock a big win.
- Fake GCash login links: an SMS or chat link to "verify" your account. Never type your MPIN or OTP after tapping a link.
- Account borrowing: someone pays you to use your verified GCash for "payouts." That can tie your name to fraud.
Na-scam? Report it right away through the GCash app's official help, then file with the CICC hotline 1326. See also the Maya guide if you use both wallets.
