What is a wagering requirement?
A bonus isn't cash yet. It's credit with a condition attached, and the condition is usually a wagering requirement (also called rollover, playthrough or turnover). It tells you how much you need to bet, in total, before the bonus and any winnings from it can leave your account.
The key thing many players miss: wagering counts bets placed, not money lost. A ₱20 spin adds ₱20 to your progress whether it wins, loses or breaks even. Winnings you bet again count again.
Always check what the multiplier is applied to, because the same "20×" can mean very different amounts:
- Bonus only: 20× a ₱1,000 bonus = ₱20,000.
- Deposit + bonus: 20× (₱1,000 + ₱1,000) = ₱40,000. Double the work for the same headline number.
- Free-spin winnings: the multiplier applies to whatever the spins paid, e.g. ₱150 won × 30 = ₱4,500.
How to compute rollover: a worked peso example
Imagine a ₱1,000 bonus with 20× wagering on the bonus only, played on slots that return 96% on average (a 4% house edge).
| Step | Calculation |
|---|---|
| Total bets needed | ₱1,000 × 20 = ₱20,000 |
| Number of ₱20 spins | ₱20,000 ÷ ₱20 = 1,000 spins |
| Average cost of that betting | ₱20,000 × 4% = ₱800 |
| Expected value of the bonus | ₱1,000 − ₱800 = about +₱200 |
| Same offer, but 20× on deposit + bonus | ₱40,000 × 4% = ₱1,600 cost, so ₱1,000 − ₱1,600 = about −₱600 |
| Same offer at 35× bonus only | ₱35,000 × 4% = ₱1,400 cost, so about −₱400 |
A quick rule you can do on your phone's calculator: value ≈ bonus − (required bets × house edge). If the answer is negative, the bonus costs you money on average, even before the swings. And swings are real: a lot of players run out of balance long before spin 1,000.
Averages only, for illustration. Each game shows its own RTP in its info or help screen.
Game weighting: why your favourite game may barely count
Most terms list how much each game type contributes to the rollover. A pattern you'll often see (but the site's own table is what applies):
| Game | Common weighting | Bets needed for a ₱20,000 requirement |
|---|---|---|
| Slots | 100% | ₱20,000 |
| Fishing and arcade | Varies, sometimes 100%, sometimes 0% | Read the table |
| Roulette, blackjack | Often 10–20% | ₱100,000–₱200,000 |
| Baccarat and live tables | Often 10% or excluded | ₱200,000 at 10% |
| Sports bets | Often only above a minimum odds, e.g. 1.50 | Bets below the minimum don't count |
Kung baccarat player ka, a slot-only casino bonus is basically a pass. The low house edge on baccarat is exactly why sites weight it down.
Max bet, expiry and other rules that can void a bonus
- Max bet while wagering. Terms often cap each bet, say ₱250 per spin or round, while the bonus is active. One bet over the cap can cancel the bonus and its winnings.
- Expiry. The rollover usually has a deadline counted in days. If time runs out, the bonus and anything won with it are removed.
- Max cash-out. Some bonuses, especially free ones, cap how much you can withdraw from them, no matter how big the win.
- Excluded games. Playing a game that's off the list may not count, or may break the terms outright.
- Early withdrawal. Requesting a payout before you finish wagering often forfeits the bonus.
- One per person. Extra accounts on the same name, device, address or payment method get flagged.
Sticky vs non-sticky bonuses: what's the difference?
| Non-sticky (parachute) | Sticky | |
|---|---|---|
| Which money you play first | Your own deposit | Deposit and bonus combined in one balance |
| If you win early on your deposit | You can usually withdraw and give up the bonus | Wagering applies before any withdrawal |
| The bonus amount itself | Becomes withdrawable once wagering is met | Is removed when you cash out; only winnings stay |
| Generally better for players? | Yes, more flexible | Less flexible |
Example: you deposit ₱1,000 and get a ₱1,000 bonus. On a non-sticky offer you win ₱3,000 with your own money first; you can often cash out that ₱3,000 and simply drop the bonus. On a sticky offer the ₱1,000 bonus would be deducted at cash-out even after you clear the rollover. The terms rarely use these exact words, so look for phrases like "bonus funds are not withdrawable" or "real money is used first".
What about Bet88's own promos?
This page covers the general rules. For Bet88 specifically, read the current offer and its terms on the Promotions page inside your account at bet88.ph, since amounts and multipliers can change. We summarise what we've verified in the Bet88 bonus guide, and we only print numbers we've confirmed ourselves.
When is it smarter to skip a bonus?
Saying no to a bonus is a valid choice. It's usually the better one when:
- The multiplier is high, or it applies to deposit + bonus.
- Your main games are weighted at 10–20% or excluded.
- You want to be able to withdraw any time without losing anything.
- The max-bet cap is lower than how you normally play.
- You can't find the full terms in writing, only in a chat message.
And if a "bonus" is pushed through a link from a stranger, run that link through the Legit Check first.
